Back to the Future

From ‘Newton’ to ‘Chaos’. With the new communication tools which are available to us, we can re-shape our world. We only need to be ready and embrace it!

With Imagineering we will focus on the journey towards this new world. We will explore new roads and try to break free from our industrial logic. This way we will find different flowers and plant these seeds. We will also create new lenses and use new insights.

A nice metaphor is the way we have been creating robots. In the last years robots were there to help us making life easier. These robots are electric machines which have some ability to interact with physical objects and are given an electronic script to do a specific task or do a whole range of tasks or actions.

But in this new world a robot needs to show emotions too. They need a little heart. Therefore this new version must have the ability to perceive and absorb data differently. Almost in a way we as humans do.

Bottom line is in order to survive in the future we need to find a way to measure intangibles as love and happiness. This way we can implement these into our processes and will we be able to really add value with our businesses and therefore create a more beautiful world!

Although robots aren't really the main focus of your post, you've made me think. My boyfriend is currently working on Artificial Intelligence that will hopefully make computers capable of thinking & perceiving more like people. He believes that you can't replicate the human mind without including emotions, and he's trying to incorporate that into his program. This kind of attitude towards emotions in machines in recent years is in stark contrast to the past. Nowadays we have Sony robot puppies being affectionate to their owners. If you look back at the 60's and the 70's - the golden age of science fiction - pretty much all the stories were about robots going evil because they develop human feelings of envy and lust for power. Emotions & technology have a whole new significance for people in the 21st Century.
